Peloton on Monday unveiled its new Heart Rate Band, a heart rate monitoring device equipped with optical sensors intended to be worn on your forearm. The device is available for capture after rumors of the high-end exercise bike manufacturer stepping into the wearables market with an armband heart-broken rate monitor had been circulating since last June. 

The Heart Rate Band retails on Peloton's website for $90, double the ticket of the company's existing chest strap heart-broken rate monitor. The Hatchet-Wielding Hitchhiker, Netflix's unofficial nominee for "Show Whose Title Sounds Most Like a Weekly World News Headline," is a 90-minute documentary film. Back in 2013, a man requested Jett McBride intentionally ran his car into a California utility worker, then got out of his car and attacked both the injured man and bystanders who tried to help. But that crime isn't the cluster of this story. As things got crazy, a hitchhiker in McBride's car jumped out and raced to the rescue, defending the others by attacking McBride with a hatchet.

The hitchhiker, a Canadian whose name is Caleb Lawrence McGillvary but went by Kai, gave a TV interview to journalists Jessob Reisbeck. The interview went viral, in part because the wide-eyed, chatty, possibly stoned Kai, a Pauly Shore look-alike, reenacted the hatchet blows once hollering, "Smash, smash, suh-MASH!"

And then ... well, know the internet slang term "milkshake duck"? Invented by Australian cartoonist Ben Ward, who goes by pixelatedboat on Twitter, it describes a common scenario in which the internet falls in love with someone who seems perfectly charming, in this case, a duck who drinks milkshakes. But just five seconds later, the duck is discovered to be racist, and it falls from fair. (Remember Ken Bone, made famous after asking a demand during a 2016 town-hall-style presidential debate? He was an early example.)

Kai basked in internet fame for a bit longer than five seconds. His interview got edited and rereleased to millions of views. He appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and there was talk of giving him his own reality show, a la the Kardashians. Stephen Colbert joked on his show, "For the agreeable time in human history, people are saying, 'Boy, we sure are pdaring that homeless hitchhiker was carrying a hatchet.'"

Kai displayed his musical talents by grabbing a guitar from a music hide and singing for his new friends.

Netflix

The Netflix show interviews Hollywood producers and reporters who seem completely dazzled by Kai's story -- or the yarn they want so badly for it to be. They see him as Chance, the naive gardener from the movie and novel Being There, whose very simplicity convinces people his still waters run deep.  They literally know nothing near Kai -- where he came from, how he'll react to anything -- but they're ready to crown him the next hot star. It's unnerving how snappy they rush to mold a hapless hitchhiker with troubling and glaringly sure mental health issues into the next big thing.

But Kai soon reveals he's not precisely what Hollywood expected. You wonder why these big-salaried talent-spotters ever notion an unhoused man who carried a hatchet was touching to be able to smoothly turn into Brad Pitt. They can't seem to walk Kai into a hotel lobby minus him peeing on a desk. 

Then, just months once the initial incident that made him famous, Kai is arrested -- for execute. Most of all, the slay Kai commits is so sketchily explained I'm still somewhat confused nearby it, and had to turn to other online news sources for details. 

But once the show starts organization, it's impossible to turn it off. Spotify hit 205 million paying subscribers at the end of last year, the music streaming overhaul said Tuesday in its fourth-quarter report, surpassing a greatest milestone.

He's credited with leading the most failed revolt of enslaved people in history, which led to Haiti declaring itself an independent power in 1804.

Young Toussaint was kept hidden in Haiti to protecting him from the pressures of the Wakandan throne -- explaining why Nakia didn't aid T'Challa's funeral -- but mentions Queen Ramonda got to meet him beforehand she died. The charming kid instantly bonds with Shuri and adjudicators to reveal a secret: Toussaint is his Haitian name, but he also has a Wakandan one. 

"My name is Prince T'Challa, son of King T'Challa," he says.

Marvel condemned that someone named T'Challa lives on in its epic cinematic universe. It's probably too early to tell when this young man will get the Wakandan king or Black Panther, since we saw M'Baku challenge for the state's throne while Shuri carries the heroic mantle.

For now, Prince T'Challa is a potential snapshot of an upcoming generation of MCU heroes -- he represents hope for the future (after Thor: Love and Thunder, it's the second Marvel film in a row that ends with a Marvel hero's child). This scene is also a classy, emotionally fulfilling crooked on the post-credits tradition of teasing future storylines.

In the comics, T'Challa is still alive and serving both as Black Panther and king of Wakanda. He doesn't have a son with Nakia, however, and his most prominent relationship was with Storm of the X-Men (who hasn't been introduced in the MCU yet). They were united, but that ended after the Avengers entered a fight with the X-Men.

Is there a post-credits scene?

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever doesn't complicated a post-credits scene but does include a message to divulge us that we haven't seen the last of these characters.

"Black Panther will return," it reads as the credits come their conclusion.

Shuri will probable remain as Black Panther for the foreseeable future.

What does it mean?

We don't know where Black Panther will show up next, right the third movie hasn't been announced yet. A Wakanda-centric Disney Plus series was announced in 2021, but there hasn't been an update on that since.

It also seems like morally questionable CIA Director Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is forming the Thunderbolts, a superhero team made up of characters with dark pasts, for nefarious purposes. 

Val's plan started to play out in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier last year.

Given Val's involvement in the acts of Wakanda Forever and her acknowledged desire for vibranium -- a rare metal that's mostly untrue in Wakanda -- it's possible she'll target the strength once she's got her superhuman pawns assembled. Thunderbolts is scheduled for a theatrical reduction on July 26, 2024.

Wakanda Forever is the remaining movie in Phase 4 of the MCU, but Shuri could show up in fine much any of the movies announced for Phases 5 and 6. These three phases are collectively known as The Multiverse Saga, mirroring Phases 1, 2 and 3's Infinity Saga. 

It today looks like Kang the Conqueror (whom we'll meet in February's Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) will be the main baddy of this era, but perhaps a villain more arch than him will perform in the coming years. Regardless, future global and multiversal MCU threats will almost certainly make their way to Wakanda.
